The small lockbacks as well as the larger one at midpage are lockbacks with a completely shrouded lock. There is a button at the rear to release the lock. I designed these after almost removing a finger with a Schrade Lockback that was given to me for Christmas, when it closed on my hand while in use. The Schrade is safely in a drawer now, where it will remain. I try not to design a lock that is so easily accessable to cause an accident. The button release requires that it be pressed below the surface of the shroud. You will need to use a finger-nail to close one of these lockbacks. The lock must be pressed approximately 1/16" below the shroud surface before it will release.
I currently still do my own Scrimshaw, and can scrim custom scenes on bone, Ivory, or polished antler
used on my knives by quote only. I generally utilize a stipple pattern along with lines as required, rather than simply incising with lines as many scrimshanders do. I use my own electronically controlled "Scrim-Stippler" that I designed and am in the process of attempting manufacture and market.

Blade steel for any weapon designed for self defense can be ground in a multitude of pattern styles. Folding knives of a custom design can utilize anodized aluminum in their construction, as well as titanium. I perform my own anodizing, so even a turquoise tinted color can be acheived. I carry most colors for this purpose. I custom design folders, lockbacks, and linerlocks using any desired material a client may desire in his own handcrafted knife. Reddknives ( formerly Reddman ) can build a knife for almost any purpose. Custom knives can be of the concealed weapon type used for self defense. I take pride in being a knifemaker.
