The survival and neck knives shown are but a few of the many I have in progress. I have approximately 6 profiles currently available. I make both edge hardened high carbon steel and 440-C versions. The 440-C versions are hardened and double cryo treated for toughness. The high carbon steel versions are "blued" or "Antique Black" finish like a gun, and should be wiped with oil peridically to prevent rust. The grind is with a 10" wheel, therefore the blade is thin enough to allow sharpening far longer and much easier than most commercial versions I have seen. I suggest a diamond flat for sharpening, and a razor strop to finish the edge.
These knives are not serialized, they only have my maker's logo on the side..
I have many in stock, and lanyards of several colors are available. Black , Green Foliage, Tan and Grey are the most popular. I also have Red and Turquoise. Let me know your preference in color, and whether wrapped or un-wrapped... The lanyard is approximately 4 feet in length..
I am Bill Redd, and I love knifemaking. I can make a blade in many ways. I designed my survival knife to be used as a pack knife or defensive weapon. It can be mounted any number of ways, and the cut-outs in the handle area allow tying it in any position to many handle and spear orientations. A self defense knife does not always require excessive size. I designed the neck knife blade of d-2 steel to be worn on a lanyard around the neck. I try to use exotic materials as often as possible so it becomes jewelry. Both of these knives are fixed blade, and can be used for self protection from attacks.
